At The Incredible Art Center in Palm Springs:

My art varies in medium, but I strive for great color and interesting composition.
I have been in several galleries over the years, and am lucky to sell work that is
changing and maturing with me.

A few of my favorite quotes about art making...
"It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see." Henry David Thoreau
"All real works of art look as though they were done in joy." Robert Henri
"The object isn't to make art, it's to be in that wonderful state which makes art inevitable." Robert Henri

Post #5 - August 2, 2016 Pat Kodet – Color & Design

Plan to get messy. Think Creative Color with Balance.
Today's Blog is all about color.
Plan to explore your personal color.
Do you paint the colors you wear?
What colors do you decorate with?

You can start with the colors you love and develop a keener color sense.
Places to find great color charts, Google: Pantone or color charts.
Adobe Kuler is cool. Learn all about "Color Rule," hover over the rules for great color combinations. Click the "explore tab" and check out many color schemes.

Take a screen capture or a photo with your phone or iPad. Try painting with a new color scheme.
I was just going to give you the website and I played with new color combinations for 30 minutes. I think I love color.

Post #2- June 28, 2016 - As an artist, creativity is the most important thing.

It can surface in a number of way, as new paintings, new photos, new recipe that you alter to fit you. The last week my creativity led me in a new direction. I started a store on Zazzle.com.

I'll need to sell thousands of products to make a living, but all I need is one item to go viral. I am sounding like the youth of today. These are some of my new products for sale:

Think Art Now are art lessons I created. The watercolor palette are colors I teach with. Color wheel is one of my lessons. Boy is a pencil drawing.

Post #1 - June 18, 2016 - Today I am facing one of the typical challenges artists come across daily,

especially if you are a woman, do I clean my office?, studio?, or start a new painting?

So I cleaned part of my office and started writing this blog.

Art is very important to me, but as most artists living in the 21st century, not the only thing on our plates.

Today an artist needs to participate in social media, including youtube, facebook, linkedin, Pinterest, etc. (I'll include more once I sign up for more.)

I have been shooting for SPIFF for over 6 years.

Here are some of my photos (except the photo of me) from the Palm Springs International Film Festival, 2016

and the award winning films I am watching these days:

Pat Kodet photo Johnny Depp Matt Damon

From Left: Lani Garfield, me (Pat Kodet), Paul Kodet

This year I shot film fest Opening Gala with my Fuji Mirrorless Camera. The camera is small so I needed a large flash difusser to make my camera appear professional. I do have a great lens.
